2008 Chevy Suburban LTZ motor
Hello. We have a 2008 Chevy Suburban LTZ 4wd, 220,000 miles. It started having a backfire in the motor intermittantly for about 2 weeks. Then it lost all oil pressure and started making this clicking sound or maybe its a knock. The harder you push the accelerator the louder it gets. Its been parked since but we really want to fix it. We are pretty handy with mechanical work but do not know much about car motors. Do you think this is fixable or are we looking at a new motor? Where do we start? I have a video of it running but it will not let me upload it.

knocking is probably a failed engine

Try uploading the video on YouTube and posting the link. I’m in a similar situation with my 08 suburban ltz
I just pulled the motor rebuild new cams and lifters now I have this tick because I apparently used the wrong Oil pump m265 vs the 365 that’s a standard on our rigs with DOD/AFM. Here’s a video of my issue is yours worse?
