Tahoe & Suburban The power, space, and brutal towing ability make the Tahoe and its longer sibling, the Suburban, arguably the best full size SUV's on the market today.

Default 2008 Chevy Tahoe PPV

Thinking about purchasing a 2008 Chevy Tahoe PPV, former Highway Patrol Tahoe.

Been driving Volkswagen and Toyotas all my life, honestly, how reliable are Chevy Tahoes? Been hearing alot of door locks being broken, is there a recall or a design flaw?

Anyone can referr any good honest mechanics that is very knowledgeable in Tahoes, Austin, TX area?

Finally, anybody know where I can buy some replacement seats??? Insides and the seats have basically been TRASHED, rips everywhere...rather just get new ones...

Might going to be a first time Chevy / Tahoe owner!

Welcome to the forum fellow ATX'er

I have had very good luck with my 07 Tahoe but you are going to hear more complaints on a forum about problems then good things... people usually only complain about bad things not report on good things...

I have had good luck with my local Dealership but it has been limited.
Champion Chevrolet on 183 north..

As for the seats you might also want to look into having them recovered or getting the factory seat covers that they have through GM parts direct or through a local dealer....

I would have to agree with In2pro, most people do join these types of sites because they have issues. I went back to a Chevy after 4yrs driving an F150 and I am glad I did. I would imagine being a highway patrol car the Tahoe sure has seen a tuff life, but Tahoe's and Suburban's are great vehicles.

My understanding of most of the Border vehicles is, that they're driven hard and put up wet a lot of the time, but, they do take good care of them with regular maintenance.

As far as the choice of going with GM, Chevrolet and Tahoe...

You couldn't make a better choice
