Has anyone had the evaporator replaced lately. I'm checking prices.

 

I assume that you have had the A/C diagnosed and that the shop has told you that the evaporator core needs to be replaced. Did they note any other items that they were concerned about? IE. new compressor, condenser etc?

The evaporator core is listed at gmpartdirect.com for $166.32. The list is $302.40. If you are interested in doing the job yourself, it is a big task.

If you are interested a ball park figure, it would be best to call around your area and try and find a shop that specializes in A/C repair.

I found one website that may be of use to you, it is repairpal.com. I used Sarasota Florida for the location, as I do not know where you are located, and the ball park is $893 - $1119. Of course, it depends upon what else needs to be done to repair your truck.

If you decide to tackle this yourself, there are some videos on youtube that provide some guidance.
