Thats how you reset it, shutoff the truck, then restart it. My experience has been that works, but only for awhile.

I had the truck off unplugged it replugged it in and turned it on and now the snowflake button blinks 3 times.

Do NOT guess with AC systems, you can ruin it permanently if you add sealer or refrigerant containing sealer !!!

Only real way to know refrigerant level is to pull out the refrigerant and weigh it, and add refrigerant BY WEIGHT. I recommend going to a certified ASE independent mechanic/shop.
