Default 2008 Suburban Bose Audio system

Is it possible to add an amplifier to this system without significantly changing any of the other audio hardward, namely the Bose speakers? I have been told by one shop that due to the Bose ohm ratings on these speakers, it would draw a lot of power from the amp potentially overheating it. Dont get me wrong, I love the sound but at times, with the windows down, it just plain not loud enough. That is really the only thing that I could complain about this system. Anyone have info on the options that I have?

I had the same thoughts as you. Unfortunately, who ever told you that the Bose ohm ratings on the speakers would draw a lot of power from the amp potentially overheating it is partially right. It actually would be cheaper to install an aftermarket system rather than buying OEM parts anyway.

Aloha!
