Default 2008 Suburban Z71 Tires and Lift

Ok, I just replaced the tires on my Suburban and the tire dealer did not have the factory tire in stock (LT265/65R-18). They suggested and installed a LT275/65R-18. They said it was the same ride height just a little wider. The tires look good however they do rub a little on the turns which is unacceptable.
I like the wider tire I think it will benefit at the beach in the sand.

Questions.

2" leveling kits would this solve my rubbing problem?

I've found 3.5" to 4" suspension lifts that range from 500 to 2k.
Why such a price difference? Shocks?

What manufacturers would y'all recommend for lift kits to get me started?
I would like to stay in the 2" to 4" range of height.

When lifting a vehicle suspension are new shocks on the list to buy for the new ride height?

The 2" leveling kit would help the rubbing. It would allow you to get up to 285/65 18's.

I have an 07 Z71 and I have 275's on mine and only rub when I hit bumps with wheels turned. I am going to be getting a level kit and all of them say you can go up to a 285 but on out Z71's you would have to trim the inner fenders a little bit.

If the tire is just rubbing against the plastic fender liner, you can use a heat gun and reshape it without having to cut it.

I believe they've misinformed you about the height...
The 275's are almost .5" taller than 265's.

Bringing it back around. So back in 2013... Anyway I ended up swapping those tires back to the factory size. Still running this truck and plan on running her for years to come.

I'll be replacing the shocks soon and curious not so much a lift but upgrades or preventive maintenance on the suspension. Lifts are not out of the question.

Thoughts? Manufacturers? Suggestions?
