Default 2008 Tahoe Power seat electrical problem

Hi all... My 2008 Tahoe's power seat was stuck in the rear position. Mechanic told wife $700 to fix. Ha, Im no sucker. I removed the seat to expose the seat motors. Tested the motor and found power only to the wire controlling rear movement.. No power to front movement. I routed a wire directly from battery to the wire controlling frontal movement and returned the seat to a good position temporarily. My question is that since I get the seat to work by bypassing everything, what part do I need to fix it for good? A relay, a control module of some sort? I dont know. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum, well now that you know the motor works, I would track down those very items you mentioned... Check the fuses, check the relays, check the switch to the seat, check the wire-harness....

I'd start by working from the fuse forward...
