Default 1999 suburban 5.7 wierd issues help!

Hi guys hopefully someone can give me a little direction on where to start. It happend like this, i drove home from work on friday no issues no cels truck felt fine parked shut it off went and got my daughter came back out tried to start it it wouldnt start so i jump start it with my cherokee and it starts but oh my it sounds like the motor was knocking really bad and it flashed a cel at me so i turn it off, hooked up my code reader got two codes for multiple random missfires. Tried to start it again just to see if it would but it didn't. So in short the truck wont start/will start with a jump is knocking real crazy and throws codes for missfires. Whats going on here!? Sorry for the long post i thought it best to include the context of how it happend.

First thing! Check your oil level asap!!!! Hopefully not dry. Then check for spark at all cylinders. Random misfire can mean a lot of things. Report back and let us know

OK. So the knock you're describing might not be that serious. Hopefully. Either way I would start by checking for spark. Could be a bad coil. Bad wire. Bad spark plug. Those are the three main things that cause misfire.
