Default 2008 tahoe programmer

Hi guys.

I'm new to the site and was wondering if any of you could help me. I recently purchased a 2008 tahoe with AFM that was used and already had a cat-back system on it. I was looking to add more power and better fuel economy. I purchased a K&N air intake system and installed it. I now have an Edge Evolution programmer that I was going to install but then read that it may not work with the exhaust and intake systems being installed and that it could cause engine damage because of running to lean. Does anyone here have any experience with this product and know if this will occur if I install it with the current modifications. I believe that the 2007-2008 tahoes are the same so anyone that could provide some insite it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum.

Best bet is to talk to the folks at Edge.

Thanks for the advice. I will try to do that soon, but was wondering if anyone had any success with it. I also thought they might just give me a redundant answer from the manual. Thanks again.

I bought a Diablosport everyone I spoke to has used them with air intakes , and exhaust systems. Seemed to be the most bang for the buck also. I love it there is not even a hicup now when i tow my boat up hill. I also have been getting about 2.5 extra miles per gallon which is nice. I have it paired with a Injen PowerFlow Intake, and a Gibson Dual Exhaust. The Gibson I got for a xmas present the Injen http://www.trucknvans.com/INJEN-Powe...-p/pf7055x.htm I bought from Trucknvans.com good price Free shipping and the diablosport http://www.trucknvans.com/DiabloSpor...08-p/u7194.htm I got from them as well. There are a ton of maual setting when i stop being such a chicken i;m going to try some of them i did adjust the tires and got rid of the speed governor.

Be advised that if you pull into ur dealer's service bay for warranty work and didn't remove the program, they may deny ur claim. If they look close enuf, they can tell it's been there even if u remove it.

Best bang for the buck is a Blackbear tune.

The truck will not run lean because of the air filter. The MAF sensor is after the air filter, it will measure the amount of air coming in and the computer will adjust the fuel as needed. The computer will also use the 02 sensors to adjust the fuel if they see a lean mixture.

I think what he was saying was the programmer might be on the lean side.
