Default well

have you been driving in the desert at WOT for 30,000?

if you have not, i doubt all that is needed...

check your manual! it knows all!

at 30k: the 09 tahoe manual says.... NOTHING...

at 25k it says to inspect your fuel system and exhaust system...

at 50k it says to do the same, and replace air filter

Transfer case + tranny are at 100,000 miles under normal conditions! 50k under 'severe'

They are not ripping you off, they are offering a service for a price. Unless you beat the hell out of your truck these services are most likely not needed...

power steering flush?! lol... These have a hydroboost brake system, but even that seems like over kill at $30 and for $160?! I will do that for you for $100! save ya $60!

Are you sure about the Hydroboost? I think the NBS went back to vacuum.

Id do the transfer case at least, those are expensive if they go out down the line, Id get it done at a good local shop to save the $$. Its basically just an oil change for the case right?

The other stuff, I would wait on it a bit, but thats just me.

The price of the fuel service and power steering flush seems kind of high. The price for the 4 wheel drive service seems about right depending on the fluid. The truck does call for synthetic in the drive line. At work we use BG fluids, it is about $30 a quart.

Default brakes

Ya know, I haven't even looked yet lol, I assumed that once they went to hydro boost brakes, they would not go back... However a lot of manufactures like to cheap out, and even after taking a model to 4 wheel disc brakes will return to rear drum the next model year... WHy?! this is a step back!!

At 30,000 miles?.....easy....yeah, they're ripping you off.

What you need to do is open the page to the service intervals and ask them where it says to do that. Then watch them shuffle and back pedal.

thanks for the replies. i called my local shop who does all of my out of warranty work on my cars and they quoted prices that were less than half what the dealer quoted....they followed up by saying that mosdt if not all of the services wouldnt be needed until maybe 50k miles...

that said i m going to do a transfer case flush and have them check the fluid levels in the axles. now i just dont trust the dealer at all. the fuel service and power steering will wait...

Of course it's your money, and you spend it as you see fit and what makes you comfortable. But with that said, (I believe) a transfer case flush at 30k mi. is totally unnecessary.

....and I suspect that in your case (a relatively new vehicle) they will just pull the plug, dump the oil, and refill. IOW, there will be no actual "flush".

If it has synthetics in the driveline, why would replacement be needed @ 30k???? At the dealership I work at, we replace fluids at the recommended interval unless requested by the customer....
