Default 2009 Suburban LT - Bluetooth/iPhone Question

Hey all, picked up a 2009 Suburban LT today. Loving it so far though I have had an issue with a whirring speaker—different issue for a different day.

I have the general package it seems, with a cd/dvd, radio/xm. It does have Bluetooth and so far I’ve been able to pair my phone which appears to work for calling somehow, haven’t delved too far into that yet.

My question is, is it possible to play music from Spotify over the Bluetooth or am I going to need some sort of adapter?

Long term, I’d like to replace the whole unit (suggestions are appreciated), but that’s not in the cards just yet.

Any info/suggestions you guys have on this?

Thanks!

Too old for over bluetooth capability. No such thing back in '09 for music just phone voice. USB in console may allow it via cable and aux. input option.

Even though this is a few years old I want to point out that it's inaccurate. My 09 Expedition has Bluetooth for music and calling. It's a shame Chevy didn't incorporate important technological updates like this. You can always get an aftermarket unit but may lose functionality as a result.
