Default 2009 Suburban LTZ factory camera module

Hey folks, I installed a GM LockPick in my 2009 suburban -- all is working fine, but thought I'd try to get the rear camera in motion working. The module doesn't seem to be under the passenger seat -- it might be, but there are a few modules under there and seem to be power seat related.

I can't tell if it's under there, under the dash, or elsewhere. Anyone know where and how to recognize it?

Thanks!

It’s a silver small box under the passenger seat.

I'm attaching a picture of under the passenger seat, with the seat moved forward and looking forward from the second row. There's nothing there that seems to match.

Someone else mentioned (don't remember which thread) that the 09's don't have this box...

I heard back from Coastal and they removed the module from 2009 vehicles, which means the connector needs to go to the camera directly.

Not sure it's worth it for the feature but has anyone run a wire all the way to the camera? Seems like it would involve a good amount of dissassembly.

Thanks Shark--

I've got the camera installed/working -- just wanted to get the lockpick hooked up to it to enable anytime cam -- would be great when towing. I don't think it would be worthwhile to take out the cam to put in a wireless cam.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram? If the camera wire gets voltage from the front, I can try to find the wire there instead...

What back up camera setup did you go with ? and since you did not have the backup module how did you hook camera to the head unit ?

I just ordered Kenwood CCD-2000 with special harness .

The camera was factory installed -- just came that way. It must be connected to the head unit somehow (obviously) but I'm not sure how. What I'd love to figure out is how the camera is wired completely -- voltage, video, etc.

I would suspect that the camera is only enabled when the vehicle is in reverse, so finding the signal that tells the camera that would be the place to look and then its a matter of figuring out what signal its looking for and then adding a switch to perform that function at will...

16 Pin connector C4 on the back of the head unit.

Pin 6 Camera Signal #2 + (uvc)
Pin 7 Camera Signal #2 (uvc)

I’m not sure about Voltage source to the camera.
