Default 2009 Tahoe 1LT AC goes on and off intermittently
The AC on my Tahoe goes on and blows cold air but will shut off after like a half hour. When I shut the AC off and turn it back on after a couple of minutes it works. Any ideas?

Determine if the AC compressor drive plate (the center section) is still turning when this happens.

Does the air stop blowing out the vents, or comes out hot when this happens?

does this happen auto ac mode or manual?
to confirm...the blower shuts off after 0.5hrs...it is not a cold air /warm air problem

Sounds like an actuator issue, like 3 of those electric actuators under the dash, they direct the air flow.

I replaced one myself on our 2005 Yukon.

manual ac sytems are controlled by the driver. automatic ac systems are controlled by computer and they control fan speed independantly....you would see an auto button

thank you for your explanation. There is an auto button, but I usually use it manually.

yes but for diagnosis purposes gotta know which system it is. the systems will have different set ups for blower motor control
