This time we are working with a 2009 that came to us with a 4.8. This is a RWD Tahoe and we are going to upgrade the motor to a 5.3 and install a cam, springs, pushrods, headers, and tune. But first, we must get the old powertrain out of the truck..

 

The new(remanned) engine came. This 5.3L is LMF and it belongs to 2010-2014 Chevy vans..

 

The 5.3L LMF engine comes with variable cam timing and in this video we are deleting that and installing a Texas Speed Chopacabra camshaft along with TSP 11/32 dia. pushrods and PAC 1218 springs before installing the engine in the Tahoe..

 

Before the new engine goes in we need to install the new transmission. We are electing to install the transmission from the top instead of raising the vehicle and doing that part from underneath..

 

It's time to get the new cammed up 5.3 installed in this Tahoe..
