Tahoe & Suburban The power, space, and brutal towing ability make the Tahoe and its longer sibling, the Suburban, arguably the best full size SUV's on the market today.

Sorry to hear about the response from the dealer Caniac. I'm so frustrated with mine that I wish I could just give it back to em. My dealer is trying hard and the service has been great. They are having a special drivetrain tech come in to spend some time with it so I will let you know the results. I have made them aware that if I am told that this is normal operation again that it will be unacceptable. I just can't live with it. I've had 2 other Tahoes (04 LT and 05 Z71) that were great. This one should be even better and it's disappointing that I would rather have my old ones back at this point. BTW, the dealer is replacing all 4 tires because they were flat spotted from the truck sitting on the lot for 8 months.

Anyword on this? I have a LT2 and it does something similar. I though it was the way I was babying the throttle and lugging the motor so I have sort of cured it by being a little heavier on it and getting it to downshift in those instances so I really don't even notice any more. I've been meaning to try towing mode as that is supposed to hold gears longer as well.

I believe these trucks have throttle by wire so with little throttle it might be modulating more than it should. Also what wheels/tires do you have? I have 17" and I believe the Z71's have 18"? I wonder if this is also happening to those with 20's? (just trying to find a correlation).

I have 2009 LT2 with 20 inch wheels and have not experienced this issue. I only have about 1100 miles on the truck so far.

I own an '09 Tahoe and have about 19,500 on it. I must say it has not had one issue. It is a great truck, great engine and transmission. The mileage is impressive to boot.
