The first thing I did with my old 94 when it was new was I took the stock shocks off and replaced them with Rancho RS9000's, adjustable stiffness at the shock or in the cab if plumbed for it. Got my money's worth out of the same owner lifetime warranty. I think they swapped them out 3 or 4 times in 17 years. Will probably do that to this one too. Additional, selectable, off road stiffness would prevent some of the bottoming out.
