Well a smart a** would tell you to untie them first. Sorry I'm in one of those moods. Use a pair of these. If you have harbour freight, set of 3 are about $15

Kilmer's video, sigh, I'd add USE ANTI SEIZE ON THE PLUG THREADS! Also, use di-electric grease on the new plug boots spark plug side. I have used WD-40 in the wire to plug boot to loosen up the rubber. I will agree with Scotty with replace ALL plugs, and wires, that will save you a headach later.

I used to think that anti-seize was the way to go, but auto manufacturers actually say No, don't use it.
1) The compound acts as a lubricant and can allow you to over torque the spark plug (yes they have a torque spec, does anybody really use it ? )
2) The anti seize can cause poor electrical contact, remember the plug gets its negative connection to ground via the threaded part that connects to the part the spark jumps to.

Generally twisting the plug boot before pulling on it is enough to get it broken loose, you can use a very little dab of silicon grease on the boot on install, just don't use so much you gob it onto the electrical connection inside the boot.

the best spark plug wire removal pliers
https://store.snapon.com/Boot-Pliers...--P640486.aspx

I had other pliers but this one gets the plug off with no skinned knuckles and no boot damage. I've used many different types...this is the best. the 5 positon pivoting head is great for tight access.

bought a magnetic swivel spark plug socket; saves time. I use to break even on spark plugs but now with these 2 tools...I make time.
