Default 2011 Suburban not keeping charge.

Not a great start to coming back to a GM after 16yrs. I have a 2011 Suburban that will not hold a charge. It's a new battery that was replaced because we thought the other battery was the problem. It has been tested by 2 different hand held testers and removed and put on a deep charge and tested in a diagnostic tester(this is what I was told). The hand held I saw them do, they did remove it to do something I guess test it. It's good! I've got a draw on the battery that if I don't drive it every day it will not crank after not being driven one day. Not under warranty! Anyone have this issue or see this issue? Also I have no accessories plugged in. Thanks for any input.

No haven't done that. I guess that's next. Thanks. I'll let you know what they say on that.

If the alternator isn't charging sufficiently as trainwreck91 has implied, then that can certainly cause your problem.

If that isn't the problem, you might buy a cheep "Trickle Charger" to maintain the Battery, until you resolve this.

You could (on weekend) as time permits, remove the Fuses and see if there was a Parasitical Draw on the System somewhere. Or, go to a Shop, and have them do an Amp Draw Check on specific systems. A failing Starter or dirty terminals can also cause these problems. Do you have a Voltage Meter to check Voltages ?

Alright, the alternator has been tested. It's tested good. I do have a trickle charger and a voltage tester. On to the next thing. Thanks!

Great, then at least you can keep your ride able to start until you have found the problem.

BTW:
For best Battery Life, you should not allow the Battery to drop below 12.4 vdc during a period of nonuse. IF it drops below that, a situation called "sulfation" starts, which can eventually cause a total failure. I offer this so you can check the "efficiency" of your Trickle Charger with your Volt Meter, to make sure that it's powerful enough to maintain the proper voltage.

A battery tender is better for long term use as it doesn't continually charge the battery.
