Default 2013 suburban 5.3 engine clunk

my suburban just started doing this on and off last month. Truck has 25000 miles on it.
It comes and goes. Doesn't clunk each time you turn it on. Wonder what the heck is going on.

Quite a concerning knock - still under warranty I assume?

Yes it is. I went and turned the truck off and back on and you can barely hear it now

All dealers say that if they can't hear it then there's nothing they can do. I know they will tell me that.

I had a Land Rover discovery with a new engine, Had a knock that could be quieted by heavy engine oil. I ran RP in it and it lasted almost 200K. Stranges thing, sounded like a diesel never died though.

lol you took the words right out of my mouth. It sounds like an old diesel. I have been running Mobil 1 5-30 in it since day one. It just randomly started doing this one day last month. Does it on and off every couple of weeks. Truck is not a daily driver though.

Does it do it if you put it into gear right way?
