2013 suburban how to bypass temp sensor of hatch
i have a 2013 4x4 3/4 ton suburban bought in USA but i am in Canada
I note the rear hatch is programmed at factory to not work except manually if the temp is -10C or less
I am mobility handicapped using a 4 wheel electric mobility scooter, I am unable to lift my arms to open and close the hatch
I now use a cane to push it open and to pull it down where i can reach it
I would like to have the temperatures sensor bypassed so it opens and closes at all temperatures
MY service garage here is reluctant to attempt this or even ask GM directions to do the bypass
all help appreciated

Don't know if your service garage is a dealership or not.
The shop is attempting to avoid any problems/liability up the road possibly caused by alterations..
I would check with one or two dealerships OR the company that installed the lift assy. You don't want anyone altering anything in there because you depend on that unit working when you need it. Do you happen to know the name of the company that manufactured or installed the unit ?

Just a thought, but a rope or small chain attached to the gate with a hook to stow it on when gate is closed might help with lowering it.
These things have so many modules and so forth and the computer needs a signal from that sensor within a range to allow it to open the hatch. So to bypass it would require some way to trick the module so it always gets a signal that allows it to open. That might be as simple as wiring in a resistor with a specific value. But it's going to take learning how that sensor works.

It is factory program to not open with key fob remote or overhead button from inside the vehicle when temp is -*17F (-10c)
i am waiting for Capital Gm in Regina to contact GM on my behalf to get a fix for me.
my problem is due to handicap - mobility, I can not lift arms above shoulder, i walk with great difficulty using 2 canes
The time i need to operate drivers seat modification, unload me, open hatch, (use cane to push open) unload mobility scooter, return scooter lift to inside suburban, return driver seat to inside suburban - 15-20 minutes. The time to get back in suburban is also 15-20 minutes. Operating the hatch by remote or use of the motorized lift and return would chage this time to 5 minutes. At -33C today i get dang cold ! if there is a wind I get a lot colder. If anyone can solve my issue i am forever in your debt!!

I now talked to Ca[ital GM, Regina and they are not helping. They (service mgr) also say they wont ask the GM rep to talk to me re this need
I have found the sensor part on an Autozone USA site, same part in Canada search on google finds none available . Autozone usa does not ship to canada
If i do order to usa address, then i need someone to determine how to bypass and someone to install
