I am currently about to purchase a 2014 Suburban with the Bose non-Nav radio w/ dvd and factory rear entertainment system. As part of that purchase I was hoping to upgrade the radio to something with Apple CarPlay.

I have looked around on the internet and not finding much answers to the overall question I have.

If I replace the radio, can the rear screens still be used with the rear auxiliary RCA inputs (and wireless headphones), or is a media receiver required? Is something else required?

Based on my research if I buy some higher end units I might be able to get video from the receiver to the screens. I haven't found much information on if I go with a more mispriced unit.
