2015 Suburban Leveling Kit
I have a 2015 Suburban LT with the max trailering package. The max trailering package includes air bags in the rear suspension that inflate to level the rear when weight is applied to hitch. This airbag leveling is activated automatically based on weight on rear suspension.
I'd like to add a small lift or leveling kit to the suburban. I'd like a little more clearance in the front, and I'd like to add larger tires. I sold my trailer boat so I don't trailer at all anymore. The truck is basically a hauler for fishing gear and a surf wagon now. I drive it on the beach at Assateague Island in MD around 50 days per year. I would also like to stiffen up the suspension a little to make the vehicle drive more like a truck.
Questions are: How complicated is it to make changes to the suspension since I have the airbags in the rear? Can I install a leveling kit (or have someone install a leveling kit) without removing the airbag system? Would a small leveling kit stiffen the suspension at all? Other options to level the vehicle, allow for larger tires, and stiffen the suspension?
Thanks!
