Default 2015 Suburban LT: No AM/FM Radio Reception

Hey folks,

I just picked up a used 2015 Suburban LT this week with the MyLink system. Turns out, there is absolutely no radio reception except for XM. I have verified that both the large and small coaxes are connected (and reseated them as well) to both the window antenna on the back transformer as well as the module behind the dash directly above the glove box. I have checked the radio and glovebox fuses, reseated wiring harnesses, and am currently stuck. Does anybody have any ideas of other things I can troubleshoot?

Thanks!

Is it out of warranty?

Yep, it has 60,000 miles already so bumper to bumper is expired.

the dealer would:
check for dtc; maybe there is a code set in the radio...code reader won't read body codes...full function scan tool required
-plug in a test antenna at the back of the radio...if the radio works...the issue is with the antenna
-ohm check the antenna; disconnect the cable from the back of the radio and at the antenna...if its open, replace the antenna.

Thanks Tech2. Sadly, I don't have access to a full function scan tool, or another test antenna with the goofy looking coax termination. I will check for resistance on the antenna leads tomorrow.

I know it's been a couple of years since you made this post, but do you remember what the problem was? I'm having the exact same problem with my radio in my 2015 Suburban.
