SabrToothSqrl has become a bit jaded to the brand, but to his credit he has provided some good input on Apple and Bluetooth integration in the past...

I'm not here to bash the Tahoe, just trying to get some kinks worked out. I've been with Chevy for a long time and I know every maker has some issue to contend with. I love the new car, but when the wife has gripes, it brings the whole project to a stand still!

Update:

I picked up the Tahoe today and here's what happened. The rear spoiler is on order and they will replace it when it arrives. That is the issue with the rear hatch locking up. They said that in extreme heat, the rear spoiler expands and binds up the hatch. Sounds like a good fix to me hopefully.

The air condition has a problem like previously stated, it gets a musty burst of air when turning it back on if its shut off after driving without airing it out prior to shutdown. They have a fix which is programmable at the dealership. They turn on the feature that allows the system to air itself out after you turn off the ignition. The fan will run a few minutes to clear out the moisture. It actually does it, no kidding. I shut off the car and the fan kept running on a very low speed. Seemed like it works so far.

The engine sound is intermittent in regards to the high pressure fuel pump and DI. It did't do it all the time and I only hear it once and a while throughout the day. I'm good with that so far.

The paint was clayed and waxed, took away all the little spots. If it comes back they will handle it hop problem they said.

The dealership, Guaranty Chevrolet in Santa Ana, CA, took care of me. The GM came out and explained the repairs on the vehicle and was very nice. He filled our tank and sent me on my way. It means alot to me that he did that, meeting me and taking time to do that. I'm very happy and so is the wife. I'll update things as they occur if it helps anyone else.

I double checked the AFM system and on idle in Park, it indicates V8 as well as in drive, with my foot on the brake at a stop, indicates V8. Its been running good since we got it back but now theres a click in the steering wheel that we can feel when making left turns or at a stop and turning the wheel. About 1/4 way after turning the wheel, you can feel the click. Turn signal on or off does not affect it and changing the telescoping or tilt does not affect it either. Not sure what that is, I'll have them check it when they replace the rear spoiler.

The interior is extremely quiet with very little if any road noise.

The AFM will never (I know never say never) be active at a stop or idle situation... so another possible cause of the sound could be the AC compressor running and or possibly "slugging" when it first kicks on....
IF you can post a clip of the sound....
Thanks for keeping us updated

I found the sound on youtube, its the same one. Sounds like a sewing machine at times. Not too bad, seems to come and go. All research says its the fuel pump and direct injection. The GM told me the same thing when I picked it up. Maybe they will come up with a fix that quiets it down the road, not too worried now.

On another note, I was asked earlier if the right side mirror auto dims. It does not, only the rear view and left side. I wasn't able to find a way to disable it like I could on my 09 Sierra.

It does has more ponies than my Sierra, a noticeable amount.

Not at all. I provide factual based information. GM forced leaded gasoline on millions of Americans, polluting our air and water. They couldn't patent regular ethanol, so they added lead to gasoline and paid scientists to cover up the dangers.

More recently, they killed 13 people with their profit over all else motives.

I am merely bringing to light the horrible company they are, in the hopes that maybe someone, somewhere will decide... GM isn't for them. That's the best I can hope for after what I've been through with them.

So yes, it is a goodwill mission to spread awareness for a company that we've bailed out, which has destroyed the health of millions, and provides no support for their horrid products.

My goodwill is that someone, somewhere will be able to avoid GM, thereby saving them selves, time, money, and possibly their own life.

Finally, my goodwill, and yours was unwillingly spent in the form of $80,000,000,000.00 (that's 80 billion). On companies that should have gone under. I didn't get a bail out check for my company... did you?

Thanks for keeping us updated

so how do other companies run their start/stop algorithms?

did they switch to motor driven a/c pumps?

I don't personally like this system, it's stupid and detracts from the correct solution to the problem... but whatever gets it to pass the EPA tests I guess.
