Who remembers when GM made reliable V8 engines? It is absolutely shameful for any engine to fail under 100k miles and yet here is an L83 that failed at 77k. One of the AFM intake lifters sticks in the compressed state creating a hard misfire and no compression on that cylinder. Gen iii LS engines were the peak of reliability for GM v8 engines because they did not use these DOD/AFM lifters. We are going to do something about that for this 5.3L V8..
