2016 Tahoe navigation question
I have a 15 suburban and the icon representing the truck is a small white truck. On the 16 I have a small circle with an arrow. I thought when I first looked the truck over and the manual shows a truck. What do you have and how do I get my truck there ( if I can)
I just bought a 2016 Tahoe 5 days ago, and, I am disappointed already. I have a green starburst similar to the BP emblem that you touch.and then, you are routed to OnStar for NAV. There is no NAV screen that pops up,unless, I don't know what to do. I have had lots of GM cars with NAV,and, they all had a screen with a map and your location on it. I do not like the idea that I have to call OnStar for a route when I just want to see the surrounding roads. Is your 2015 like this ?
Not all of the trucks have navigation. But all the trucks have the display and a navigation button. None have OnStar and if you paid for faction you nav. Then you have the maps.
I too have read the manual and it says the most common icons are the truck and a circle with an arrow. I can't get the truck back into display. I figure I must have done something wrong.

I had the same problem. I picked up a 2016 Yukon XL, base model, with the large display, but no navigation. A nice display but no nav - just the OnStar turn-by-turn direction feature. The base package was much less expensive, as it didn't have several other expensive options that I never use. I wanted nav, but you can't get nav unless you upgrade to the mid-tier package. Then, for $1000, I ordered a replacement Human Machine Interface Control Module module from OEM Auto Parts Co.. It replaces the base model module, and has a hard drive for the map and a GPS receiver. You will need to give them your VIN number so they can program the module to match your vehicle. It is a 5 minute install requiring only a screwdriver. It goes behind the glove compartment. It was a bit pricey, but was a net savings of several thousand dollars, because I did not have to pay for the options I didn't need. By the way, always keep the original module handy, and swap it back in if you go the the dealership for service, otherwise they might re-flash the module back to the factory default and you will loose your nav feature.
