Default 2017 Suburban

We recently purchased a used 2017 suburban from a dealership. We believe they cleared the check engine light before selling it to us. Is there any way we can prove this?

We purchased it 12 days ago. The light went after approximately 100 miles. It is on because the thermostat is stuck open and confusing the computer on what the temperature of the car is, causing the cooling fan?, i think thats what it is called, to ALWAYS RUN. It is loud and annoying. I do know though that this is a common problem for this vehicle.

I would think that a cleared thermostat code would re-appear before 100 miles. However, I WOULD contact the dealership and ask them if they could replace it as a courtesy, hint that you'd like to evaluate their service ethic for future repairs.

yes this is very common, most times we just replace the thermostat, 2 prong pigtail connector along with the coolant temp sensor. All in all is not a very expensive repair.
