Default 2017 suburban premier purchase

Hey all,

new to the forum, we just had our third kid and are now realizing we need a lot more space for ourselves and all the gear that comes with #3.

We are considering buying a 17 suburban premier with 4wd. Roughly 80k miles. Clean carfax and routinely scheduled service/maintenance. My general understanding is these are pretty reliable rigs. Is that pretty accurate based on this communities experience? Anything I should know or look for before buying? What are the common weak spots?

thanks so much!

Last November we picked up a pristine 2014 Yukon XL Denali with 96K miles, and have had no issues other that difficulty finding appropriate information in the owner's manual, a common GM issue.

I believe that 2017 was the start of 1234yf refrigerant, which apparently works well but is significantly more expensive than R134a. 2017 - like our 2014 and our 2011 before that, has AFM to sometimes shut off 4 cylinders while on level highway driving, to save a teaspoon of fuel. However, it was pretty much the 2020-2021 engines that had the major AFM issues, if I have the years correct....
