2018 Suburban LT Key fob programming
Hello, I Just bought a used 2018 Suburban LT with 97,000 miles.
It had an old key fob but it worked. It only came with one so I ordered 2 extra key fobs from Amazon. I made sure the FCC ID number was right and they came yesterday.
I followed the instructions in the manual and online.
I put the working fob in the passenger cup holder, then it said to put key fob 1 in the fob holder and push the start button which I did. Then it said to wait and I waited 10 minutes or so and it came up and said to insert key fob one again so I hit the start button again so I did, waited another 10 minutes and it came up and asked for key fob 1 again and it didn't lock or unlock like it said it would! So I tried the other one I ordered spent another 30 minutes and same results so I just gave up and grabbed my original key fob and it wouldn't work anymore! I had already set up that my Chevrolet app and subscribed to the 43.00 a month onstar service.
I then went into the mychevrolet app and it started the car for me and I turned it off and tried to start it again but it wouldn't do anything!
I have never had one of these button starts before and I am nearly 65 and but i have good technical skills but I followed the instructions to a tee in the manual and online but nothing worked! I just bought this car Friday night and the next night after trying to program a new key fob it won't work! Plus the dealer couldn't bring my old car back on Saturday because all his drivers were sick!
I called onstar and they were useless! Do I call the dealer and get my money back or what? The main reason I bought it was because it had a brand new dealer installed transmission in it!
Anyone have anything I can try?
Thanks in advance!
