2023 Suburban – Persistent rattling from driver-side dash/speaker area-video
2023 Chevy Suburban – Rattle at Highway Speeds (Looking for Insight)
Hey everyone, hoping to get some experienced input on a rattle I’ve been chasing on my 2023 Chevy Suburban.I’ll attach a video so you can hear it.
What I’m Hearing
- Metallic rattle / chatter
- Sounds like it’s coming from the front driver side, almost like it’s near the driver-side dash speaker, but I know sound can travel
- Only happens while driving 60+ MPH
- Doesn’t happen at idle, low speeds, or revving in park
- Couldn’t be consistently heard while the truck was on a lift
Timeline (Important)
- I had a transmission fluid flush and engine mounts replaced first — no noise after that
- The rattle started after torque converter work was done and has been there since
What’s Been Checked So Far
- Put on a lift by my mechanic
- Exhaust and heat shields checked
- Suspension checked
- Nothing obvious found
What I’ve Narrowed It Down To
Based on the symptoms and feedback I’ve gotten, these seem like the most likely areas:- Torque converter bolts / dust shield / flexplate area
- Starter drive (Bendix) possibly engaging or vibrating
What I’m Hoping For
- Anyone who’s dealt with a similar GM truck/SUV rattle at highway speed
- Confirmation I’m looking in the right area
- Anything commonly overlooked on these trucks
Thanks in advance.

📌 Video Note
Phone was resting on the driver-side dash speaker while recording — mic placement doesn’t mean that’s the source.Thread
