You are right... The rear end ratio is set up for slow-motion-baby... I cant imagine the hoe loaded down and trying to 'get out da way'...

My take on tire size is that when u increase the size u lose the rear end gearing.. But if you NOT concerned about gas do the 4/10s.. I have 22's with the 3/73 and it is ok.. I would take even a 3/50 rear end as I an not into the leave any more.. I had enough of drag racing to worry about leaving now... and boys were are your photos COME ON OUT and hang w your ride in a photo.. ur not shy the way some of you disss me but im case hardened... I hope I helped you on gearing.... Marie....

. . . . But if you NOT concerned about gas do the 4/10s.. .... Marie....
Actually there's been a lot of posts that say the mileage is actually better with the 4:10 front/rear gears. Something about the 5.3's sweet spot.

I really don't remember specifics, just that the 4:10s were usually better than the 3.73s. I've got 3:73s and 5K mi. and get 12-13 in short trip city driving and only one trip but not many miles and got ~16. Did get about 0.5 mpg improvement when I switched to Mobil 1.

If it were mine I'd go with a 4.56 gear set, just keep in mind that my wife thinks I'm an idiot.
