4L60E Servicing or Not?
I have used answers and suggestions made in the past with good results and wanted to hear thoughts on this subject. I am the second owner of an 08 Tahoe LT. When I purchased the truck it had 120K miles on it and the showed only oil changes as any service that was done by the previous owners. It currently has 168K on it and I am not having any issues with it but I am torn between having the fluid/filter changed in the trans as is recommended by the service schedule. In fact the only reason I havent had it done is many of the friends around me say leave it alone, especially since I have no record of any maint ever being done to it. I've heard of failures after ahving this service done? My question to is, whats the best advice on trans servicing? I am a maint kind of guy and to me doing nothing is almost as bad as abuse.
Thanks in advance for any help.

In my opinion, the fluid looks a little used and slightly discolored compared to a new Silverado work truck I'm using. There is no burnt smell to it but I didnt expect it to be since I am not experiencing any issues with it. Just trying to do whats best for it. Also, I didnt include this in my first post but it does tow a 4600lb boat trailer combo.
