Default 4wd & Stabilitrac questions for 2012 Suburban - New Owner

I just bought a 2012 Suburban with 4wd. I am new to Suburbans and to 4wd. The 4wd does not have hi/lo it only has Auto and 4wd. Can someone please explain the following:
  • What's the difference between not having hi/lo and having it?
  • Should it just be set to Auto all the time?
  • What is Stabilitrac and how is it different than traction control?
Thank you for any information you can provide.

You can go onto the Chevrolet website and download the owner's manual for your truck. That should explain everything.

Interesting; I would like to see a pic of your dash switches. My '93, '05, and '20 all have 2, auto, 4h, 4l
BTW welcome to the forum, lots of good info here.

My '11 has all 4 settings also.
I think some Escalades had a full time AWD, not 100% sure but remember reading it somewhere and not sure of what year or two they did it.
