Hello everyone. I purchased a crate 5.3 LS LM7 long block. I am installing it in a 2003 suburban. My question is... What accessories do I need to buy? I know I need to get knock sensors / harness and temp sensor. I have intake and exhaust gaskets to transfer my current 5.3 intake to the new engine. I am also wondering if there are any differences to the LM7 design from 1999 to 2003 as I ordered a LM7 that said direct fit for 1999. Thanks so much for the help guys!

 

I have done this 2 times with friends exactly as you speak. With the exception of the gaskets and any other sensors you wish to replace, it should be plug and play.


I will say this, out of the two that I have direct knowledge of, the guy that used syn oil on startup and drove it like he stole it is getting excellent mileage and power.
