Hi all I have heard of folks asking about converting a 6.0 to an 8.1 and conventional wisdom states that it is not worth the time nor money. However I am looking into the possibility of going from an 8.1L down to a 6.0 as some car thieves blew up my 8.1 and the truck is too special to me to let go and I am being told by my mechanic that an new 8.1L would be around 10-12K if you can find one. So as much as I hate the idea of cutting my trucks ***** off and downgrading, the extra mileage and being able to keep the truck make it a favorable course of action. What are your guy's thoughts? And if anyone knows of a good 8.1L either low miles or rebuilt please point me that way.
