I have an 86 suburban. I love it and would like to keep it forever, but I have kids and the rear seats are lap belt only and low seat backs and this is going to create a safety issue when the children get older. I know what my options are as far as using car seats which means in a few years my suburban will have to go. What I need to find out is can I do something about the vehicle seats themselves.

Does anyone know whether I can buy replacement rear seats for my suburban that are taller with more head support? If so, what make/year would fit in my 86 suburban?

I was thinking I could at least have shoulder harnesses installed but looking at it I don't see how that is possible.
