Default 2004 Tahoe - Windshield wipers will not turn off

I currently have a problem with my windshield wipers. If I turn them on about half the time they won't turn off when I turn the switch off. It usually happens during the intermittent wiper settings, and they switch to a constant (non-intermittent) mode when they get stuck. The switch is a rotating **** on the turn signal lever. If I turn the vehicle off and leave it off, then they usually turn off the next time I turn the vehicle on. I'm not sure if there is something wrong with the switch, if there is a relay somewhere that has gone bad, or if it is the motor for the wipers. Any ideas???

Most likely a faulty multifunction switch (turn signal lever).

Hey has anyone else had this issue? Our 04 Tahoe is now doing the same thing. I hope it is not the turn lever...that thing is expensive...

I had the same issue in my 04 silverado, apparently the relay's (under hood) stick on them , i was told to replace it , but i just removed it and plugged it back in and have never had a problem since (3 years ago) so try your relay
