no fluid on the dipstick? you checked it in park idling right? In most cases if its driven low on fluid until it doesnt move the transmission is burned up...did the dipstick smell hot/burnt at all?
My next step would be to drop the oil pan and check for metal, take the filter a part and check for metal in it also.

No burnt smell from on the dipstick or fluid. It was driving smooth all day. I backed it into a parking space and parked it. When I came out two hours later, it went forward, but being a burb, doesnt maneuver the best. I put it in reverse and it still wanted to go forward. So I put it in park and turned it off. When I started it back up, nothing. No response in any position on the column. If it burned out, wouldnt I have seen smoke or noticed slippage or some kind of sign? It was just serviced in January and has driven great.

Transmission are not engines. They don't smoke because they are full of fluid. In transmission your clutch's can go bad, valve solenoids can go bad, passages get blocked up, valve parts break, springs for the valves break... If there is debris it could have worn away parts.
Transmissions "burn out" very differently than engines. Transmissions are you could say, fragile, picky, etc. They have to be clean and have good fluid for proper operation. Other wise they are slowy and sometimes rapidly destroying them selves.
