I have a 94 Suburban that recently failed smog in California (attached pic of measurements). My check engine light comes in when I'm sitting idling, then goes off when driving, so I pulled code 35. Also, my husband took the pre-heater hose off (going to exhaust manifold), the truck seems to run better without it (sputters, like it's doing to die, with it attached), however, he did put hose on just while test was performed, as they wouldn't do the visual without it in place.

I'm not sure where to start with repairs. I'm thinking the PCV valve? We don't have a lot of money, and I want to try to do as much myself before sending to a mechanic. I love my truck, and want it fixed. Any suggestions?
