It's located behind and to the left of the throttle body, screws into the intake manifold and has a vacuum line connected to it.

heres the latest update. with new efr truck ran alot worse wouldnt even stay running had to keep it at 1500rpms when stopping to keep from stalling. changed the solenoid valve for the egr no change. put the old egr back on still have same problem, but at least i can drive it without keepimg it at 1500rpms. so i have now changed the following tps, egr, map sensor, solenoid valve, plugs and wires and Iac and still have the same problem i started with. please help im running out of ideas. what should i look at next. thanks chuck

run compression test, and inspect spark plugs. compression should be 150 or greater, no more than about 10 psi difference between cylinder readings.

I have been told that I could have a burnt or bad valve. does this make sense with the symptoms that i have described? why would the idle be normal when i apply pressure to the egr valve? Is it still possible that i have some sort of vacuum problem somewhere im not seeing. Im realy at my wits end with this thing.

Have you ha it scanned? t could be a vacuum leak or also there is some sort of electronic module that controls the vacuum to the egr. I don't know the name of it but it is mounted on a bracket over the valve cover.
