the overhead console in my 95 Tahoe is the standard console with map lights, garge door opener and sunglass storage, etc. I've always thought it looks like there should have been an optional LED readout or something in the space towards the windshield where a section of the console faces the passengers. My 93 full-size Blazer has the same overhead console. Does anyone know if there is an optional readout, perhaps with compass, temp, etc, that came in these consoles? pics would be great if anyone out there has something other than a plastic filler panel in these consoles. Thanks.

 

that flat first panel is for the optional rear heating / ac controls in either the tahoe or burban... if it's where i think you are describing.

 

I found a pdf of the 95 Tahoe owner's manual and there is indeed a picture of the overhead console with the optional rear heat/air controls. thanks.

So my next question is: has anyone out there found an aftermarket information center or maybe one from a different GM overhead console that can be fitted into the empty space overhead in a one of these consoles without the rear HVAC controls?
