Question 96 burban

i have a 96 burban with almost 184000 miles the pinion is goin out in the rear end.... my question is, would it be worth replacing the pinion bearings if there are not any metal shavings in it. Or just toss it and find a used rearend. i dont know that much about rear ends so can comeone help me out to tell me if i need a specific type of rear end or not. thanks for stoping by.

if u dont know much about them, go for the used rear end, just make sure the gear ratios are the same, or your 4x4 (if u have it) could get buggered up, and the speedo wouldnt show the right #
