Default 96 tahoe won't start at times

When I turn the key, sometimes there is power, sometimes none. When there is power it just clicks (wont start) then no more power. I put a new battery, checked all connections to altinator/starter & battery. I'm thinking possibly the ignition switch? Has anyone experienced this? Doesn't happen all the time.. just the most inconvienent times! HELP!?!?!

The ignition switch was a known source of headaches on the 1995-99 model years, it does sound like that could be the culprit.

Next question is, where is it, would it be easy to replace?

It's a serious pain in the *$$.
I would have a shop to it, it will also have to be keyed.

hmm, there goes my idea of me fixing it... since I don't have a clue of what being keyed even is. Thank you for your knowledge! I appreciate it!
