Default 97 Tahoe A/C inop

My compressor clutch is not activating when I turn the AC on. I hooked up a couple of jumper wires to the female plug on the compressor and it activates normally. I put a volt meter on the male connector plug pins and it is not getting power. I switched the AC relay with the starter relay and still no worky. Both fuses for the AC in the left inside fuse panel are OK. The blower fan works on all 4 speeds. When I press the round AC button on the AC control panel the yellow "ON" light comes on but the AC compressor isn't coming on. Those are the details. Any help is appreciated. Right now I'm betting on the AC switch on the AC panel.

I had what I believe to be a similar issue. I replaced the high pressure switch on the compressor. The unit now functions as designed. Hope this helps.

Have a shop check the refrigerant level, one needs special equipment for this. Low refrigerant can prevent compressor from getting power, to prevent damage.
