Default 97 Tahoe Transmission Help

I know the tahoes have had constant transmission problems, I just bought a 97 2 door 4WD Tahoe with 76,000 miles. I does not appear to have had any off road time on it. The transmission is working fine now and the fluid is clean.
The question I have is: Instead of waiting for the trans to crap on me is there a fix I can do now??
Is there a better trans I can put in it instead of replacing it with another piece of crap??

Thanks,

Fran

there are 2 main failure points in the 4L60E one is the sunshell (internal hard part) and the second is line pressure (fluid hydralic pressure) I would have the line pressure checked. It should fall between 55psi on the low side and 189 psi on the high side in park, neutral, and drive.....the higher the reading the better.
