98 burb overlander - need touch up paint code?
Ok everyone, I have a white 1998 diesel GMC suburban - its now an overlander, 33" tires. minor lift, solar panel etc. so I have spots where the original paint is flaking off, some 1" flakes. one the size of a dinner plate - they tend to get bigger (flake off) as i wash em with the pressure washer. I want to "touch it up" essentially to protect it from rust issues.
I'm thinking i want to match the original color - as best as possible - definitely not a showcar - but I'd rather not look like the Beverley Hillbillies truck!
so I assume I would want clean up and rough up the area, then hit it with a primer - followed by the paint.
so:
How do I determine the paint code - or do I need it?
should i get one of those Kits with all the paint, sand paper etc included, or just buy a rattle can of primer and paint - and go for it?
thanks in advance
