Default 98 Tahoe brake lights won't work

My 98 Tahoe has no brake lights. I looked at the switch that's on the brake pedal and the wires have been cut and I can't find where they were cut from, nor do I know why they were cut. Does anyone have any info on where the wires from the brake light switch go? What harnesses are involved? Any info is welcome, I can't drive this vehicle with no brake lights! Thanks in advance, people.

Did it have a trailer brake installed? You will need to get under the dash, and find the other ends, electrical hackers plain suck.

well it does have a trailer hitch on the back and wires coming from it to connect to a trailer but other than that, i don't see any wires under the dash that would be related to the trailer hitch. i'm in the process of taking the dash apart and thinking about lowering the steering column to gain better access.
