I too do the same, and thought I was paying a higher price for a better level or quality of service... However I have since learned that the dealerships also hire the same knuckle draggers as many of the lube shops
There is no ASE certification needed to change oil, lube a chassis or rotate tires... You can only hope that your dealership has a qualification process and standards higher then the lube shops....

I agree with you, there are some slugs working at dealerships. In this area, the dealers have Quick lane locations for lube/oil and tire rotations. It looks like most of the workers there are newbies out of school. I wont take mine to the quick lane, i schedule oil changes when maint. work is being performed.
