ABS Light
Hello all,
Found yall because I'm looking for some help with 2000 Suburban. The ABS light on my dash has been on for about a year now, however ABS still works just fine(I've tested this in the snow). My question is two fold: 1) Will the code reader at Advance Auto be able to pull this and tell me where my problem is, or 2) is this a common problem with a relatively easy fix?
I've looked through my full set of manuals on the truck and have found nothing on this issue.
To answer the question that everyone who reads this is asking, I'm just now getting motivated to find an answer to this because I've started looking at silverados to replace the suburban with, and when I'm selling the truck I don't want the ABS light to deter anyone.
Thanks in advance for the help guys!

My 01 abs light goes off and on... and I do notice a difference. in my case (may not be the case in yours) it's the wheel speed sensors. after cycling the key light goes away til I hit a bump or something that moves it enough to trip it. I haven't done anything with mine cause if memory serves, you have to replace the hub assembly and when I was looking at it parts were 600 a side...
the parts stores scanners should tell you something.
I've learned to live with the light. lol

This is a common problem. The ABS light comes on because the ABS brakes are disabled. You can change the sensors without changing the hubs. I did this on my 99 and it did not fix the problem. sometimes it does. The light comes on at random. When the ABS light comes on so does the the brake light. Brakes still work and I have learned to live with it as well.
