ac blews hot air/ac belt keeps breaking
My ac problem started when my rear ac stopped working in my 03 Tahoe, around that same time it would shake while stopped or in park. Then about a day or two later my front ac started blowing out warm air only. I checked the Freon levels as well as fuses and they were good, so I took it to a Chevy dealership ($90) in which they said I needed a new ac belt. I bought a belt and had it put on, the rear ac still didn’t work but front blew cold. 1 day later, belt broke again so I bought a second belt and ac belt tensioner, which worked for a day as well. Now my belt broke again, so I’m back where I started...(ac BLOWS hot air)<O

sounds like the compressor is locking up... have you sat and watched it with it running and a/c going?
if it's eating belts it seems to me that something (ac compressor or otherwise) isn't turning.

Thats what I'm thinking it might be. I am now on my 4th ac belt. When the belts are first replaced the ac blows good thru driver side vents and bearly thru passenger side. But not at all in rear. I think I will check into compressor for belts braking and blower for rear ac.
I replaced the ac belt on my 02 Tahoe yesterday and put freon in system ac was blowing cold like it should then I remembered the rear ac and turned it on but when I did the belt broke. Does anyone have any idea why this may have happened. Thanks
turning on the rear ac doesn't make the compressor run any different than just the front ac. make sure the a/c belt tensioner pulley isn't seized. Whenever you have a belt off for replacement...always spin each pulley and listen for rough noise bearing and watch for play.
